Christmas in Penang 2025
I managed to completely botch the development on this one.
A lesson in developer concentration and temperature.
I really managed to botch this one up.
This was just a test roll, so I wasn't going to be too worried if I completely mucked up the developing process. As it so happens, I completely mucked up the developing process.
This was shot on a Minolta TC-1, using FOMOPAN Classic ISO 100 black and white film. They say this particular film has high contrast under normal circumstances, but I accidentally went for a punchier concentration of PC TEA without realising that the higher temperatures I was developing at were going to make it even more pronounced.

In some cases this turned out alright. In this particular shot there were so many bright objects in the foreground that having super high contrast worked in its favour.
Blur.
Over concentrated developer wasn't my problem with this one!
Figured out what the spot button does on my Minolta. Failed to use it correctly, but hey, that's some crisp detail in the background!
Isn't this the glasses place where I sat for about an hour while a man polished a pair of sunglasses? A pair of sunglasses that we didn't end up buying?
A slippery slope from here on out.
Contrast issues from this photo onwards start to become a bit much.
Barely visible street art.
Penang's finest, if you can see it.
Originally my goal on this photo walk around Georgetown was to take some pictures of Penang's world famous street art. Within about five minutes I forgot about my goal, but I did manage to snag a picture of this fine example. Unfortunately, the super high contrast makes it almost invisible!
